Welcome to the
ESAB information website
The European Specialty Accreditation Boards (ESAB), are operated
by individual UEMS Sections/ Boards, European Specialists Societies/
Federations or jointly by these organisations.
They form a network which cooperates and shares experience in accreditation
of European Continuing Medical Education (CME)
activities. ESAB achieved an important level of harmonization between
their operating accreditation systems.
The work of ESAB is not competitive, but complementary to national
accreditation read
more.
All Boards work according to the Quality
Criteria of the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical
Education (EACCME),
published in the document D9908
(PDF, 81 KB).
The network is open to European CME Accreditation
Boards or Committees applying EACCME/ ESAB minimum
quality evaluation criteria for international CME activities.
In November 2005, ESAB jointly sent a
Position Paper to EACCME proposing an efficient cooperation model
for European CME accreditation, under its umbrella.
The proposal aims at formalizing and improving the existing system.
